Vince Gilligan’s answer to the aftermath of Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), ‘El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie‘ (2019) starts with a conversation between Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks) and Jesse after that infamous train heist. Both Mike and Jesse’s moral conscience took a hit after that particular incident orchestrated by Todd (Jesse Plemons) in the deserts of Albuquerque. They wanted to get out. We learn that Mike was the one who gave the idea of Alaska to Jesse. One can only wonder what Jesse’s life would have been if he went to Alaska on that day itself!
And the above said conversation, where Mike warns Jesse that he can never put things right is what this El Camino ride was all about. Yes, Jesse could never have put right the things that had happened since he deserted the first ride to Alaska. And the fact that he had no one to say goodbye except Brock was yet again a painful remainder to the arduous life journey of Jesse Pinkman.
